We are deeply grateful to you for choosing St. Michael’s for your children.
We recognize that this investment in education significantly influences a family’s financial planning. After much analysis, the 2018-2019 tuition and preliminary budget have been set. The budget reflects our ongoing commitment to providing a college preparatory program that is distinctive in its offerings, rooted in Catholic tradition, and efficient in its use of resources.
The Board of Trustees has set tuition for the 2018-2019 school year at $21,100, which represents a modest 3.4% increase. As noted in our communications regarding auto-reenrollment, the registration fee is now a flat $500, rather than the 10% of total tuition billed in previous years. In addition, .85% of the increase is the result of rolling the following into tuition: class sets of Norton Anthology books for juniors and seniors, Summer Success fees, and the Smart Tuition fee. This is the next step in our effort to give you a single tuition amount, eliminating any additional charges. The remaining 2.55% is consistent with cost-of-living increases. As a reminder, we included the following previous fees in the current year’s tuition: parking, transportation, and College Boot Camp.
Among our strategic goals have been to: 1) increase the average compensation of faculty members in order to enhance our ability to attract and retain faculty of the highest caliber, 2) further develop our overall program, 3) augment faculty professional development funding, and 4) improve facilities. The modest tuition increase coupled with increased efficiencies allows us to make considerable progress in meeting these goals.
On behalf of the faculty, staff, and trustees of St. Michael’s Catholic Academy, we thank you for allowing us to partner with you in the education and spiritual formation of your children. Thank you, too, for all of your efforts in fueling the spirit of this great school community. We are honored to be a part of the lives of you and your family.
