BASEBALL
Head Coach - Calvin Schiraldi

The Crusaders finished second in District. Seven players earned All-District honors. Alex Cannata and Braden Shultz earned Academic All-State honors. The team finished the season with a 20-10-1 record, earning State Semi-Finalists honors after falling to Fort Worth Christian in the TAPPS Division II State Tournament. The Crusaders posted victories over UIL opponents Dripping Springs High School, Llano and San Antonio Brandeis.

BASKETBALL - WOMEN
Outgoing Coach: Darrell Smith

The team finished in a three-way tie for second place in District but did not make the playoffs due to tie-breaker rules. The team had an 18-18 record. Kathryn Morton earned first team All-District and Academic All-State Honors. Amber McGee and Alexis Threadgill were named first team All-District. Addison Earley, Lily Watkins and Mia Wilson were named second team All-District, and Gabrielle Bliss, Avery Lindsey and Audrey Griffith earned honorable mention All-District honors. The Athletic Department is currently in the interview process with candidates for the newly vacant head coaching position.

BASKETBALL - MEN
Head Coach - Cooper Land

Under new head coach Cooper Land, the Crusaders had an exciting season and won their third straight District championship. The team finished with a 24-11 record after falling to Tyler Bishop Gorman in the 5A regional finals. Six players earned All-District Honors. Augie Watkins was named first team All-State. Major Thurman earned honorable mention All-State honors and Academic All-State honors. Thomas McCarthy earned Academic All-State honors.

CHEER
Head Coach: Ervin Knight

St. Michael’s hired a new head cheer coach last year with extensive competitive cheer coaching experience. Under his guidance, Coach Knight plans to take the cheer team in a successful competitive direction. Currently, the Athletic Department is in communication with the cheer program to give them the opportunity to compete year-round and possibly cheer during winter sports.

CROSS COUNTRY - WOMEN

Head Coaches - Augie Alcala and Jeff Cunningham

The team continued its dominance, winning a TAPPS record fourth consecutive State Championship. No other TAPPS school has won four consecutive times. The Lady Crusaders won seven of eight meets this season, including the prestigious Chili Pepper Festival Invitational, hosted by the University of Arkansas. Kinga Parrish took home the individual championship. Lady Crusaders won the District Championship en route to State. Their 92-point triumph over second place San Antonio Christian at State was the largest margin of victory in TAPPS history. Four athletes (Mary Hodapp, 3rd; Camille Terracina, 4th; Kinga Parish, 7th; and Sydney Osgood, 9th) earned first team All-State Honors. Mary Hodapp and Kinga Parrish earned Academic All-State honors.

CROSS COUNTRY - MEN
Head Coach - Augie Alcala and Jeff Cunningham

The team continued to be competitive at an elite level taking second at the TAPPS 5A State Championships. Junior Jackson Long earned the individual title in several meets, including the Chili Pepper Invitational title in Fayetteville, AR. Jackson Long won the district championship and the runners took home the team title. They went on to take second at the State meet, where Jackson earned silver medalist honors behind Notre Dame signee Carter Cheeseman of FW Christian. Senior Joe Lawler also earned 1st team All-State honors with a 7th place finish, also earning him academic All-State honors.

DANCE
Head Coach: Lauren Parra

The Crusaderettes performed in a variety of challenging routines at all of the halftime shows and pep rallies throughout the football season. They finished out the season with a big win at the Crowd Pleasers Dance Competition. The Crusaderettes walked away with the Grand Champion title along with “Best in Class” and “Outstanding Choreography” titles for all three of their routines.

FOOTBALL
Outgoing Coach: Ben Ortiz

The Crusaders went 2-7 in the season. . Lane Kilbride and Sam Saxton will be continuing their football careers at the collegiate level. Sam will be attending University of Texas and Lane will be attending Sewanee University. The team scored victories over Austin Lanier in the home opener and beat The Houston Village School on the road. Sion Carr and Stone Sears were named first team All-District. Lex Boucvalt, Sebastian Cascarano, Keaton Granger, Jaxon Jehl, Paul Meyer and Garrett Urry were named second team All-District. Trey Carr, Jack Hagy, Jaxon Jehl, Vaughn Malone, Joseph Meyer, Paul Meyer, and Garrett Urry were named honorable mention All-District. Lex Boucvalt and Sebastian Cascarano earned Academic All-State honors. We’re excited that Jeff Dicus has been hired as the new football coach. Most famously, Coach Dicus is the architect of the Lake Travis Football dynasty and looks to turn the SMCA program in a winning direction. Spring ball started the week of May 13.

GOLF
Head Coach - Chip Chace

The Golf teams finished third as a team in District play. Brace Ryan, Georgia Hernandez and Luke Barnett advanced to TAPPS Regionals as individual medalists.

LACROSSE - WOMEN
Head Coach - Caitlin Fegley

The Crusaders continued their dominance, winning District eight years in a row and advancing to the TGHSLL Division I State Tournament for the eighth year as well after winning the Division I Central Texas District Championship over Austin Westlake. The team finished with a 14-4 record. Lyla Senn earned Academic All-American and All-State honors. Theresa Martinez earned All-State honors. Isabella Oballo, Sydney Schiro and Alexcia Zeller earned All-District Honors.

LACROSSE - MEN
Head Coach - Scott Bankston

Under new head coach Scott Bankston, the Crusaders finished the season with an 11-9 record and made it to the THSLL Division II Sixteen Team State Playoffs for the first time in five years. Hunter Rogers earned All-State honors. Caleb Eby and Ian Prince earned All-District honors. Jack Sherwood earned honorable mention All-District honors.

SOCCER - WOMEN
Head Coaches - Carolyn Leatherman and Tim Keyes

The team won the District championship for the second straight year. Thirteen players earned All-District honors. The Lady Crusaders finished the season with a 14-4-1 record, reaching the TAPPS Division II State Semi-Final game for the first time in program history after defeating defending State champions Tyler Grace Community School 5-1 in the Regional Finals. Jessica Mikell was named first team All-State, and Jordan Sommers earned second team All-State honors. Tim Keyes will take over the program next season.

SOCCER - MEN
Head Coach - Patrick Miller

The Crusaders went 3-10-1 in the season with victories over Schertz John Paul II, Veritas and district opponent Hyde Park. Andrew Reid and DJ Jacobs were named first team All-District, Augie Stone, Nathaniel Mahoney, Rylan Peterson, and Tripp Daniel were named second team All-District with Alex Garcia, Brett Malone, Jack Cisneros and Zach Sommers earning honorable mention All-District honors. Andrew Reid and Nathaniel Mahoney earned Academic All-State Honors.

SWIMMING
Head Coach - Ella Unruh

The Swim team sent five swimmers to the TAPPS Division II State swim meet. Josh Bannon won the 100m breaststroke, setting a new TAPPS Division II State Record. Bannon also won the silver medal in the 200m Individual Medley, and set new school records in both events. Josh Bannon committed to Division I St. Bonaventure University to continue his swimming career. Madison Barrick, Mary Claire Fuselier, Lucy Fuselier and Evelyn Fuselier all made it to State as freshmen.

TENNIS
Head Coach - Carlin Murray

The Tennis teams grew significantly this year with over 40 kids on the roster. Nicholas Alvarez advanced to the TAPPS 5A State Tennis Tournament in men’s singles winning his first round match before losing to the eventual State champion in the quarterfinals. Chase Boykin and Jackson DeRoeck advanced to the TAPPS 5A State Tennis Tournament in men’s doubles. Chase Boykin earned Academic All-State honors.

TRACK AND FIELD - WOMEN
Head Coach - Angelique Cunningham

The Lady Crusaders had the best season in program history winning the District Meet, the TAPPS North 5A Regional meet, and finishing second at the State Championships. The Lady Crusaders scored a program record 100 points at the State Meet en route to the team’s second place finish in the 34-team field. The second place finish is the program’s highest finish since joining TAPPS. Out of 11 contested running events, the women won gold in six. The 4x400 meter relay team consisting of Mary Hodapp, Jennifer Thomson, Molly Van Ackeren, and Kinga Parrish won the State Championship. Parrish has signed a NCAA Division I Track and Field Scholarship with the University of Tulsa.
Mary Hodapp also took home State titles in the 1600m and 3200m. Kinga Parrish won her third consecutive 800m State Championship, and followed that up with the school’s first 400m State title in a school record 58.76 seconds. Jennifer Thomson won the 300m hurdles State title, setting a school record in the process. The Lady Crusader 4x200m relay team of Molly Van Ackeren, Sidney Kaliher, Caroline Treadwell, and Jennifer Thomson won the bronze medal in a season best 1:48.14. Freshman Sydney Osgood received a bronze medal for her third place finish in the 800m, and sophomore Kiele Shultz also won bronze for her third place finish in the pole vault. Seniors Kinga Parrish and Mary Hodapp tied for fourth in TAPPS 5A Athletes of the Meet recognition.

TRACK AND FIELD - MEN
Head Coach - Angelique Cunningham

This year the Crusaders had one of the largest teams in school history. The team had a very successful season winning District, the TAPPS North 5A Regional meet, and placing fourth overall at the TAPPS 5A State meet. The team won the State Championship in the 4x400 meter relay, posting the fourth fastest time in school history. The relay State Championship team included Sebastian Cascarano, Reece Anderson, Stone Sears, and Jack Esparza. Junior Jackson Long won the silver medal in the 1600m and 3200m. The 4x200m relay team with Vaughn Malone, Sebastian Cascarano, Stone Sears, and Reece Anderson took the bronze medal at the State meet. In total, 14 athletes qualified for the Regional Track and Field Meet, and 11 athletes qualified for the TAPPS 5A State Track and Field Meet. Sebastian Cascarano, Nathan Vondrak and Thomas McCarthy earned Academic All-State honors.
 
VOLLEYBALL
Head Coach - Sarah Silvernail

The Volleyball team won the District Championship for the second year in a row. The team’s eleven players earned All-District honors and finished the season with a 23-5 record, earning State runner-up honors after falling to Victoria St. Joseph in the 5A State Championship match. Senior Moorea Wood signed a Division I scholarship with Duke University to continue her volleyball career. Kelsey Kilgo and Moorea Wood made first team All-State, Kathryn Morton and Nora Carlson earned second team All-State, and Gracie Cuba and Lauren Milliner were named honorable mention All-State.
