St. Michael's Hosts Award-Winning Film About Minor League Baseball

As the culminating event for the Austin Revolution Film Festival. The St. Michael's Film Department is proud to screen 50 Summers ,a full-length documentary that embeds with the front office staff of the Omaha Storm Chasers, the Triple A affiliate of the Kansas City Royals, on Opening Day of their historic 50th Season.

The film also provides an in-depth look back on the changing business of Minor League Baseball in America over the last half-century, talking to players, broadcasters, and front office legends who’ve dedicated their lives to the game.

See how the Omaha club has managed to survive and thrive, weathering the storm of relocation threats, new ownership, name changes, and stadium issues all while maintaining the longest parent-club affiliation in all of Triple A baseball.

50 Summers pulls back the curtain on game day life and shows how the small, passionate front office crew juggles the needs of the team, sponsors, and (most importantly) the fans to provide one of America’s most quintessential experiences: a day at the ballpark.
