Welcome Coach McCormick!

Coach Lee McCormick, a 16-year veteran in the field of strength and conditioning, is the newest member of our football team. Lee has tutored many professional NFL players, boxers, Olympians (track, swimming and diving), and high school athletes. McCormick served as an assistant strength & conditioning coach at the University of Texas at Austin for six years. While at UT, McCormick assisted in the design and implementation of speed development for the football program, and developed strength programs for women's tennis, softball, rowing, golf, cheer, women's track & field, and cross country. Before his time at UT, McCormick was the head strength coach at Indiana State University where he oversaw 18 NCAA Division 1 sports.
Coach McCormick also spent 12 months as an assistant intern strength coach with the San Antonio Spurs NBA/WNBA Silver Stars where he developed his strength and conditioning philosophy and career goals over the years.

McCormick played one season of college football at ISU, before transferring to play at Murray State University under Frank Beamer, were he was named an All-American player. McCormick led the Racers in receiving for three consecutive seasons and is currently 4th all-time in career receptions (122) and in receiving yards (1,837) McCormick is also a Murray State Hall of Fame Inductee. McCormick played in the NFL, AFL 1, and also ran track for two seasons at Murray State (long jump, 4x 100m relay & 60m).

McCormick earned his B.S. in Occupational Safety Health Engineering from Murray State University and his M.S. in Safety Engineering from Columbia Southern University. Coach McCormick is a member of several professional Associations including the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCC) and National Strength and Conditioning Association (CSCS). He is also certified by the International Sports Science Association (SCCC) and the United States Weightlifting Association (USAW). He’s also chieved status (USA-Track & Field) in the USATF Level-1 National Coaching Education Program. He is a part of the American Muscle & Fitness Certification (PT) and is Sport Nutritionist-American Muscle & Fitness Certified and certified with N.E.S.T.A. - National Endurance Sports Trainers Association, (SAQ Certified).
