Theatre 1 Puppet Show Project (By Ivan Klousia, Director of Theatre)

Theatre I students in the construction process of their puppet show project. The assignment is to compose their own five-minute puppet play, design & construct puppets, assign and memorize parts, and then present the final product to the class.

There are several important aspects to this assignment: First, the students create an adaptation of a familiar story. They
must keep the basic idea of the original story, but they have the freedom to change important aspects to make it uniquely theirs. The students then design and construct their own puppets using craft supplies. Lastly, in performance, they practice vocal technique and puppeteering skills to bring the characters to life and perform for their peers.
