The Henderson Cup Explained

The Henderson Cup is earned by the school that amasses the most points in 27 TAPPS competitions in a school year in Academics, Athletics, and Fine Arts, including Solo and Duet Acting, Literary Criticism, Lincoln-Douglas Debate, Persuasive Speaking, and Prose Interpretation.

The current year at St. Michael’s is highlighted by our 2016 TAPPS 4A State Academic Championship (also won in 2015) and our five State Championships in Athletics: Cross Country, Track & Field, Tennis (also won in 2015), and Volleyball.

“Consecutive Academic Championships combined with consecutive Henderson Cup wins are unheard of. Our students, especially, but also our families, faculty, coaches, and staff deserve all the credit for making St. Michael’s the tremendous success it is today. The Henderson Cup win is just one example of the great things going on at the school.” - Donald Figer, Chair of the Board of Trustees
