Application Materials

List of 7 frequently asked questions.

  • Completed Online Application, $150 Application Fee

To begin the online application, click the "apply now" button to the right. All questions must be answered and in order for an applicants admission profile to be considered complete, a completed application and paid application fee must be submitted.
  • Prospective Student Shadow Visit

Prospective applicants spend a half day of school "shadowing" a current student, who shares like interests. With an assigned SMCA student ambassador, the prospective student will have an opportunity to attend classes, attend a focus group, learn more about our programming and enjoy lunch. The day will commence at 8:15am and end at 1:15pm. Register your student here.

*Partner school students will attend a shadow visit on a selected date with their school. Students do not need to attend another shadow date.
  • Transcripts & Records Release

The transcript release form will be accessible when you start an application online. Within the checklist, you can download and print the form to give to your student's school(s). Parents/Guardians should complete the top portion of the Record Request Form and submit the form to the Registrar of the applicant's present school. The Registrar should then forward the applicant's transcripts for the last three years of enrollment and any standardized test scores and discipline reports to SMCA. A parent/guardian signature on the form authorizes the applicant's school to release the information to SMCA. If your child has attended more than one school in the last three years, an Records Request Form must be sent to each school. All student records received by SMCA are treated as confidential.
  • English/Language Arts Teacher Recommendation

An English recommendation should be requested to a student's current teacher through the online application portal after starting an application; an applicant may submit additional recommendations from other teachers or school officials as well, however this is not required. Recommendation letters received by SMCA are treated as confidential.
  • STEM Teacher Recommendation

A math OR science recommendation should be requested to a student's current teacher through the online application portal after starting an application; an applicant may submit additional recommendations from other teachers or school officials as well, however this is not required. Recommendation letters received by SMCA are treated as confidential.
  • Test Scores (ISEE)

Applicants are required to complete a standardized student evaluation. Freshman are required to take the ISEE entrance exam. For transfer students, we will accept the PSAT, ACT, SAT or ISEE. The ISEE evaluates students in the areas of verbal and quantitative reasoning, reading comprehension, mathematics, and written expression. The examination is designed to offer an objective overview of a student's reasoning and achievement abilities.

When registering your child for an exam, be sure to use the code 440313 to send scores to St. Michael's Catholic Academy. Students with disabilities that require special testing accommodation should contact the ISEE National Office directly.

We offer the ISEE on three dates each year which can be registered for through the ISEE website:
    • 12/1/2018 9:00 AM
    • 1/19/2019 9:00 AM
    • 2/9/2019 9:00 AM
*Should you be unavailable for these dates, please go to the ISEE website to see other sites offering the exam. If there are no dates in at a local site, a prometric center can administer the test.
  • Student Interviews

After a completed application and support documentation has been submitted, the prospective student is required to attend an interview. The interview provides an opportunity for the applicant to ask questions about SMCA and for our Admissions Team to meet the applicant. Families will receive a sign up link to schedule an interview after all application materials have been received.
