Legacy Application Program

St. Michael’s Catholic Academy (SMCA) recognizes the importance of the legacy relationship in the history of the school. To accommodate and encourage the growing number of legacy applicants, SMCA has instituted a separate priority admission timeline, granting legacies special early consideration and notification during the admissions process.

Legacy Application FAQ

List of 3 frequently asked questions.

  • Who is a Legacy?

A legacy is someone with an immediate relative who has attended SMCA, such as a parent, sibling, or grandparent. When submitting the online application, please identify the legacy relationship in the "Student Information Tab".
  • What is the Legacy Application Program?

SMCA has instituted a separate priority admission timeline, granting legacies special early consideration and notification during the admissions process. Although SMCA prefers to keep families together, admission is not automatic and all applicants (regardless of prior family connection) are evaluated according to the same criteria. All admission decisions consider the best interest of each individual child as well as the best fit with the SMCA community.
  • What do I need to submit?

Legacy applicants need to submit all required documentation. We encourage families to reach out to their current schools early in the fall to ensure all teacher recommendations and transcripts are sent in by the due date.

Legacy applicants are encouraged to submit by the December 10th Legacy Application Priority deadline but can also apply by the New Student Application Deadline.
