Juan Creixell, President

 After graduating from St. Michael’s, Juan attended the University of Texas at Austin and graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance. He began his career working for The Chase Manhattan Bank in Mexico City before going on to receive his MBA from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. 

After working for almost a decade in New York at various investment banks, Juan returned home Texas where he is Executive Director at JPMorgan and lead the Central Texas Private Bank office overseeing $3.5 billion of assets.
  
Mr. Creixell also serves on the finance committee for the Diocese of Austin Foundation in addition to his role as the President of St Michael’s Alumni Association’s Governing Board. In 2015, St. Michael’s honored Juan’s commitment to our school and his community by making him Alumnus of the Year. Juan lives in Austin with his wife, Mariana and their three daughters Isabel, Ana, and Sofia who all attend St. Gabriel’s Catholic School. In his spare time, Juan enjoys running, tennis, golf and skiing.

Jay Arellano, Vice President

From an early age, Jay knew the field of education was his calling. During high school, Jay was team captain for multiple years, lettering in both football and baseball. After graduating from St. Michael’s, Jay pursued a baseball career at Texas A&M- Kingsville before transferring to St. Edwards University where his love of sports and sports medicine blossomed.

Jay worked for several Austin area athletic teams after college, before becoming the Head Athletic Trainer at St. Michael’s. As Head Athletic Trainer and coach of the softball team, Jay helped our SMCA athletes to win multiple championship. 
 
Ultimately, Jay’s desire to help others led him to a Masters in Social Work and to work with students with learning differences. Always loyal to St. Michael’s, in 2011, Mr. Arellano became the head of St. Michael’s Learning Center and Academic Advising. 
 
In 2008, Jay was awarded Alumnus of the Year for his commitment to our school and his community and while he has moved onto become the new Dean of Students at St. Theresa’s Catholic School, Jay still serves as Vice President of the St. Michael’s Alumni Association’s Governing Board. 
 
Jay married his St. Michael’s high school sweetheart, Mercedes Deleon Arellano, and has two amazing sons, Jackson and Gabriel. Outside of work, you will find Jay at various sporting events with his sons, spending every minute available with his family.

Garrett Essl, Board Member

Born and raised in Austin, Garett G. Essl ’05 went to on to graduate from Texas Christian University with a Business Degree from the Neeley School of Business in Entrepreneurial Management after St. Michael’s.

After graduation, Garrett remained in Fort Worth and is pursuing a career General Contracting and Real Estate Development. He also serves on the Board of Trustees for the Ronald McDonald House of Fort Worth, is a member of the Fort Worth Stock Show Syndicate, and is active in various committees for the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo.

Zach Ojeda, Board Member

Zach Ojeda is a 2010 graduate of St. Michael’s Catholic Academy. During his high school career, he participated in football and track. After high school, Zach completed his undergraduate work at Texas Lutheran University, dual majoring in both Athletic Training and Sports & Fitness Management. Zach then went on to complete his MBA at St. Mary’s.

Last year, Zach and three Texas Lutheran peers started a printing business, PSC LLC, that specializes in printing on promotional and marketing materials as well as custom or personalized gifts. While that business grows, Zach serves as an athletic trainer for a sports academy in San Antonio.

Tom Reitmeyer, Board Member

After graduating from St. Michael's Catholic Academy as Salutatorian, Rev. Tom Reitmeyer '96, attended Texas A&M University and earned a B.S. degree in Biochemistry and Genetics. Following college, he worked for almost eight years for the College Station Police Department in various roles from dispatcher to detective before going on to work for his local parish as a Resource Development Director while he discerned his call to seminary.

Fr. Tom began his seminary studies at Holy Trinity Seminary at the University of Dallas in Irving and completed his studies at St. Mary's Seminary in Houston. He holds a Masters of Divinity degree as well as a Masters of Arts in Theological Studies from the University of St. Thomas in Houston and a Baccalaureate in Sacred Theology (S.T.B) from St. Mary's University in Maryland. 
 
Ordained a Catholic Priest for the Diocese of Austin on June 6, 2015, Fr. Tom's first parish assignment was St. Albert the Great Catholic Church in North Austin. In July of 2016, he was transferred to St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Killeen, TX where he serves as Parochial Vicar. 
 
In his free time Fr. Tom enjoys traveling, reading, and one day hopes to become a private pilot.

Megan Trager, Board Member

Megan (Minus) Traeger graduated from SMA in 2002 and attended Texas Lutheran University where she earned her BA in Communication Studies and Public Relations. She found her passion soon there after in education teaching middle school English on the southside of San Antonio. After four years, Traeger relocated to New Braunfels, Texas with her husband, Andrew, and two daughters, Ryan Grace and Reagan. She continues working as an 8th grade English teacher, starting her tenth year of teaching. She aspires to be Paula Priour, but no one can ever be THAT good.

George Waguespack, Lifetime Honorary Board Member
