Tennis Players Head to State

Facing two days of extreme weather highs and lows, the Crusader Women's Tennis Team faced the toughest competition and largest district ever to secure second place in the TAPPS District Tournament in Waco. Anchoring the district team were seniors captains, Hannah Harrod, Brennan Foreman and Rachel Thweatt. Freshman players, Ori Boucvalt, Grace May and Sofia Rangel Medina rounded out the team in their first district appearance. The powerhouse team of Hannah Harrod and Brennan Foreman placed first in girls doubles to secure their fourth district doubles championship and first seed at the state tournament. Doubles Team Rachel Thweatt and Sofia Rangel Medina battled their way to a fourth place finish to qualify them for a state bid. Singles players, Ori Boucvalt and Grace May, played extremely well to go deep into the back draw to help their team place second. In this year of rebuilding for the women's tennis team, a bright future is ahead for these amazing freshman.
