New Software for Logging Service Hours

We are excited to announce our new system for logging service hours, MobileServe, just in time for the summer, when many of our students get in the bulk of their service hours. MobileServe provides a slick and simple mobile interface for logging hours with multiple options for verification, such as  geolocation and photo uploads.

All students should have received an email containing account set-up procedures. Simply click the link provided in the email, fill in the requested info, download the optional app, and start logging hours!
For Freshmen and Transfer Students Only: Because your St. Michael's email account has not yet been set up, you must first create a MobileServeaccount with your personal email or Facebook account at this link. After filling in your information, you will come to a screen that says “Enter Org Code." Enter code E85C71 and you will be set to log hours.

With the MobileServe app, you can log your hours at the service location—open the app, put in the hours, service organization, service category, a story or description of the service, and sufficient verification  (see the Service Page of the SMCA website for details about proper verification). Follow this link to see a video that steps through the process of logging service hours, and click on "Video: How to Create a Service Log."

Remember, all students, including freshmen, can work on hours for the upcoming academic year during the summer. More info about service requirements, what counts and does not count for service hours, service recognition awards, and more can be found on the Service Page of the SMCA website. If you are trying to find service opportunities, but have not found something you like, take a look at our regularly updated SMCA Recommended Service Opportunities List.

Please direct any questions about service or the use of this new system to me at dhodapp@smca.com.

Thank you and enjoy the summer break,
