Cross Country Action

The Crusader Cross Country team began its season on August 18 in successful fashion. The three-time defending State Champion Lady Crusaders began their season where they left off in 2017. The Varsity 1 team of Camille Terracina, Mary Hodapp and Kinga Parrish dominated second place Goliad High School en route to the meet championship. The Lady Crusaders Varsity 2 team of Ellie Greff, Sydney Osgood and Cadence Layne finished 5th in the field of over 20 teams with a gutsy performance. The Junior Varsity team of Finola Thomas, Gabby Bliss and Veronica Hodapp put in a great performance, taking 4th overall.

On the men's side, the Varsity 1 team of Jackson Long, Nathaniel Mahoney and Joe Lawler took second in a hotly contested race with state ranked UIL 5A Lockhart.
The Crusaders finished well ahead of 3rd place Corpus Christi Tuloso Midway. The Varsity 2 team of Alex Garcia, Jacob Pratt and Jackson Laughery took 10th place. The JV team of Nicholas Terracina, Joseph Eichorst and Lachlan Thomas turned in one of the best performances of the day in dominating a crowded field to claim the meet title. Grant Lawler, Tomas Guajardo and Johnston Daboub also ran well in the JV 2 spot recording a top 15 finish.

The Crusaders will be back in action this week at the Lockhart Invitational on Saturday, August 25..
