Early Dismissal Reminders

Just a quick reminder that October 2 and October 10 are early dismissal days. Students will be released on Tuesday, October 2 at 2:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, October 10 at 12:00 p.m. On both days, buses will depart 10 minutes after dismissal. Athletic teams will start their practices at 2:00 p.m. on October 2 and at 1:00 p.m. on October 10. All details may be found from "Read More."

Extracurricular Acitivies Schedule:
  • Women's Basketball: OFF Both Days
  • Dance Normal Practice Times Both Days (4 PM Start Time)
  • Football: 2:30-5 (10/2) and 1-3:30 (10/10)
  • Men's Basketball: 2:30-3:30 (10/2) and 1-2 (10/10)
  • Volleyball: No Practice on 10/2 due to a game; 1-4 (10/10)
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 2: DISMISSAL at 2:00 p.m.

October 2 is a professional development event for faculty and staff on "The Well-Balanced Student," a child development program administered by Stanford University, titled Challenge Success
  • 2:00 Dismissal - Buses depart at 2:10 - arriving at St. Theresa and St. Austin at 2:40 p.m., and arriving at St. Louis and St. Ignatius at 3:00 p.m.
  • Should the October 2 early dismissal pose a problem for your commute or schedule, Brian Moreland will be on campus in the Upper Commons to oversee students as of 2:00 p.m.
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 2: PARENT EVENT 6:30 p.m.

THE WELL-BALANCED STUDENT EDUCATION WORKSHOP
In this presentation, parents learn how to establish a healthier home environment for their school-aged child, reduce academic stress without sacrificing achievement, and increase children's resilience, creativity, and well-being.
 
ABOUT PRESENTER MARGARET DUNLAP
Margaret Dunlap, M.A. is the Schools Program Director for Challenge Success, a research-based organization affiliated with the Graduate School of Education at Stanford University. Margaret has extensive experience in professional development and coaching for schools,education leaders, coaches, and teachers. She has held various leadership and program management roles in public and private education for over 25 years. She lives in the San Francisco Bay Area, CA with her husband and three children.

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 10: DISMISSAL at 12 p.m. 
  • 12:00 Dismissal - Buses depart 12:10 - arriving at St. Theresa's and St. Austin at 12:40 p.m. , and arriving at St. Louis & St. Ignatius at 1:00 p.m.
MONDAY, OCTOBER 8: School holiday for students and in-service day for faculty and staff.

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 10: PSAT Test Day 
  • Freshmen will report to the dining hall at 8:30 a.m. for the annual “Called to Protect Youth” training. Freshmen parents have received specific details about this diocesan-required training session.
  • Sophomores and Juniors will report to the Carter Athletic Center at 8:15 a.m. to take the PSAT.
  • Seniors will report at 8:30 a.m. to the 400 hallway of the academic building to work on college essays, college applications, and/or service project reflections.
