Career Speaker Series: Susan Pinzon, Semiconductor Engineering

Dozens of students attended the lunchtime Career Speaker Series today on Semiconductor Engineering and Process Improvement by Susan Pinzon. Susan holds a B.S. in Physics from Bradley University, and an M.S. in Materials Science Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. 

Susan currently manages Business Process Improvement at AMD. She leads and advises teams to achieve significant improvements in quality, cost and delivery of products. AMD is a global semiconductor company that develops computing and graphics processors which are the beauty and the brains in various technologies and platforms. She is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt, with expertise in statistics and problem solving. As part of Global Operations organization at AMD, she travels to Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, Malaysia, and China to implement vast improvements and changes around the globe. Prior to joining AMD, she spent 16 years at Freescale Semiconductor (formerly Motorola Semiconductor Products Sector) advancing through various process engineering and program management roles. Susan is also a devoted wife and mother; she and her husband Arturo have four children. Daniel is a freshman at St. Michael's.
