Love in Action

Welcome back to our monthly Pancakes and Prayer Blog. We hope that each of you have had a successful start to this brand new year. We have now completed our second meeting of the year and are off to a great start.

During our first discussion we talked about love and ways that we can express it. Beyond just saying that we love one another, we also focused on love as an action. These actions of love are essential in creating our goal of oneness for our SMCA family.
We talked about several different examples of these expressions in our daily life. Everything from offering smiles, hugs, and kind words; which can be just simple acknowledgments that someone exists. We discovered that sometimes these simple gestures are all that it takes to change someone’s day, week, or possibly life. Love in action can also require us to step in and help those that we love. Sometimes that can be a tough conversation, but we choose to advocate for those who may not be advocating for themselves. Why? Because we love them.  We can also pray for the ones that we love and our community and express our gratitude to God for each other.
 
1 Corinthians 13:4-5 “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no account of wrongs.”
 
Every moment and every second of our lives matter - what we do with that is entirely up to each of us. What matters most to me is that you know that you are never alone, we are here for you. We see you! #Igotyou – means just that I’ve (we’ve) got your back and see you. On your good days and on your bad days, I see you. You are not invisible, you are a perfect gift from God with an abundance of gifts that will change the world!
