Ori Boucvalt Named Student of the Year by Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

Junior Ori Boucvalt, and co-Student of the Year, Austyn Harrelson from Lake Travis High School, raised $255,320 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society by writing compelling letters and emails, pitching to potential sponsors, and directing team members.

"I ran in honor of my grandmother Kathy Boucvalt who lost her life to cancer. She was extremely charitable, and I strive to carry forward her legacy in my life. This campaign made me feel like I did just that. The success of my campaign makes me feel hopeful that we are one step closer to a world without cancer," Ori said.

Ori's intention in participating was to be able to support the effort to cure cancer. She said she never expected to be selected as Student of the Year, nor was it her goal.

"Being chosen as Student of the Year was just the cherry on top of being able to support such a great cause," Ori said.

On behalf of all those whom you have helped and will help, Congratulations, Ori and Austyn!
