AP Exams May 11-22 from Home (By Sasha Spear, College and Academic Counselor)

AP exams will be administered online from home May 11-22 (see the schedule here).
There are three AP exams each day of the testing period.
  • Exams are at 11:00, 1:00, and 3:00 and it is possible to have more than one exam in a single day.
  • On test day you will receive an exam link to your email address
    • You will be expected to login to the exam 30 minutes prior to its start in order to be sure everything is working.
    • You will also be provided a form to report any technical issues should they arise (which then will allow you to test during the June 1-5 make up dates).
If you decide that you want to cancel any of your AP exams, it is not too late to do so; just send Ms. Spear (aspear@smca.com) an email (you will not receive a refund until exams start on May 11).

Later this month, CollegeBoard will deliver to you via email an electronic at-home testing guide that will include video demonstrations.
If you have been approved for accommodations through CollegeBoard, you will still receive those accommodations; information will come to you directly via email.  The most common accommodation is extended time, and that will automatically be added to the standard 45-minute testing window.

As you might expect, extensive security measures are in place and consequences for cheating can be severe.  Learn more here.

Urgent action required: Since the at-home testing guide, information about accommodations, and links to the exams themselves will all be delivered via email to students at the email address indicated in their account, it is imperative that students verify that CollegeBoard has a good email address.
  • To view your email address (and change it if necessary), log into myap.collegeboard.org and go to Account Settings.
SENIORS: Once you have decided what college you will attend, you should request your AP Score Report be sent to that college.  There is no negative consequence for sending scores as their sole purpose is for the potential awarding of college credit (or for allowing you to skip an introductory-level course).
  • When you login to your account (myap.collegeboard.org), click AP Profile on the right side of the wide blue banner, then select the Score Report tab and choose your college.
Best of luck to each of you as you continue to prepare for your AP exams.
