The Play's the Thing - Fall Theatre Productions Open Thu/Fri, Nov 12+ 13 (By Ivan Klousia, Director of Theatre)

St. Michael's Theatre Department is proud to share the fall theatre productions with our community. This school year has proven to be a challenging one for everyone, but our intrepid theatre students have produced two shows this fall. First, starting on Thursday, November 12, at 7 p.m., students will share their production of Archangel Radio Theatre’s Varsity Players Variety Hour, which is a fun collection of old-time radio plays and commercials. This production features nine students playing a variety of roles and producing some live sound effects. The show is available to watch via our school Vimeo account

On Friday, November 13, The Auditioners will be available for a limited time via the streaming platform Broadway On Demand. The show will be available to stream, at no cost, to community members Friday - Sunday, Nov 13-15. This show is a one-act comedy that features thirteen St. Michael's students. You can see their performances here

The play centers on a director who is holding auditions for his upcoming theatre production. This audition sounds straightforward: prepare one classical monologue and one contemporary monologue. However, when this challenge is taken up by a beauty queen, a stand-up comic, a slam poet, an Esperanto-speaking mime, and a parade of other eccentrics -- most of whom insist on doing the same Lady Macbeth piece very badly, things go off the rails quickly and cause nothing but agitation for the poor director.
