Operation Gratitude for First Responders and Service Personnel (By Rae Harrison, Registrar)

VOLUNTEERISM NEEDED NOW MORE THAN EVER!

Operation Gratitude’s response to Covid-19 is a call to action for Virtual Volunteerism, and they are providing ways for individuals to give back from home. Their campaign allows every American the opportunity to support Deployed Troops, National Guardsmen, First Responders, and Emergency Medical Personnel on the frontlines of the Covid-19 pandemic. Serve in a variety of ways:

  • Make paracord “survival” bracelets for our troops and first responders to wear in case of an emergency. The threads you carefully knot in these bracelets become extremely useful in a survival or emergency situation.
  • Write personal letters of appreciation to deployed troops, veterans, frontline responders, wounded heros and their caregivers.
  • Donate Beanie Babies to be sent in a Care Package. Some are used to entertain deployed troops; others are given to children in combat zones.
