Dr. Daniela Radpay Receives 2021 Figer Award (By Dr. Dawn Nichols, Head of School)

The Figer Distinguished Teacher Award was established in 2017 to honor a faculty member who clearly embodies the spirit of the award by exhibiting excellence in the classroom, modeling core values, engaging with the community, creating an innovative learning environment, and contributing significantly to student life.

Since joining St. Michael’s in 2018, this year’s award winner, as described by a parent, “helps students develop confidence and encourages a depth and broadening of learning.” Among the many other accolades are student voices that praise her for showing her love for them and for St. Michael’s through her words and actions. A colleague shared that “her students genuinely seem to feel amazed with their own ability to speak Spanish after spending a few years with her…I am honestly inspired by her.”

It is my great pleasure, on behalf of the Figer family, to present the 2020-2021 Figer Distinguished Teacher Award to Dr. Daniela Radpay.

In response to receiving the award, Radpay said, "I feel incredibly honored to receive this recognition. Being part of the St. Michael's family has been the most rewarding experience. I am so happy that I get to teach Spanish language and literature in such a supportive environment. I work with the best students, and they make teaching such a fun adventure!"
