Art Students Reach Out to Ukrainian Children with "Portraits of Kindness" (By Kami Land, Art Instructor)

As they have in years past, St. Michael's visual art students participated in the Memory Project, whose mission is "To help children feel valued by providing them with meaningful pieces of personal history." From photos provided by the Memory Project, our students created portrait drawings of 13 children.

These children are often neglected or abandoned, have suffered from armed conflict, losing parents or family members, and are in the care of charity organizations. A small gift, lovingly created especially for them, is something our students hope will bring a little light to their lives. Please enjoy some examples of the portraits from this link. They are being shipped off tomorrow to Ukraine. And, thank you, students!
