Latin Classes Unite! (By Dr. James Inman, Latin Instructor)
On October 5, the St. Michael's Latin 2 classes met with the 5th grade Latin students at St. Gabriel's. This is the beginning of a year long collaboration between the two groups of Latin students, in which the St. Michael's students will write and publish children's stories for the 5th graders, based on characters from mythology and history chosen by the 5th grade students. Last year themes ranged from the fire in Rome under Nero, to a fantastical battle between Spartacus and Cleopatra, to a wedding between mythological figures disrupted by pirates! The 5th grade students will be the arbiters of quality, and perhaps contribute pictures to the books, too!
