Women's Soccer Competes Well in Blue Bell Tournament

On January 4 - 6, the St. Michael's Women's Soccer team competed in the Blue Bell Invitational in Brenham. The first game played was against Denton Ryan, which was their hardest match of the tournament. The Lady Crusaders lost 2-1 in a very intense game. Jessica Mikell scored in the 29th minute of the second half tying up the game, with the assist of Caroline Brutocao.

The Lady Crusaders won the second game 6-1 against CC Carroll. Roberta Gonzalez scored in the 1st minute, followed by Danielle Escutia scoring in the 5th minute. Jessica Mikell scored in the 8th minute. Then, Caroline Brutocao scored at the 20 minute mark, off an assist from Jessica Mikell. Sophia Linn scored the fifth goal of the first half in the 38th minute. The second half Hannah Morgan had the last goal at the 8th minute.
In the third game, the Lady Crusaders played against Saginaw, winning 4-1. The first half, Roberta Gonzalez assisted Caroline Keyes with a goal at the 11th minute. Then Caroline Brutocao scored at the 26th minute. In the Second Half, Jessica Mikell scored at the 8th minute and Camille McLemore scored at the 33rd minute.

For the final game, the Lady Crusaders finished strong with a score of 4-0, against Lamar Consolidated. Jordan Sommers scored at the 12th minute off a set play. Then Jessica Mikell scored at the 27th minute with the help of Roberta Gonzalez. Next Danielle Escutia scored with the assist of Caroline Brutocao, at the 29th minute. In the second half, Jessica Mikell assisted Caroline Brutocao, with the final goal, at the 14th minute.

It was great to see the team finish the tournament strong!
