Soccer Victorious Against Hyde Park

On January 19, the Men's and Women's Soccer teams played their second district game of the season against Hyde Park at Crusader Stadium. 

In the first game of the evening, the Men's Soccer team defeated Hyde Park in shoot-outs to earn their first district victory of the season. The game was tied 3-3 at the end of regulation with two goals by Zach Sommers and one by Jack Cisneros. In the shoot-out, the Crusaders and Panthers went 8 shooters each with St. Michael's edging Hyde Park 7-6 in the count. The Crusaders are 4-6-1 on the season and 1-1 in district play.

In the second half of the evening, the Women's Soccer team defeated Hyde Park 3-1.
On Friday, January 19, St Michael’s played in a District game against Hyde Park. St Michael’s won 3-1. In the 10th minute of the first half, Freshman Caroline Brutocao crossed to sophomore Jessica Mikell who found the back of the net. In the 31st minute Hyde park scored, leaving the score tied 1-1 at the end of the half.

In the 9th minute of the second half Senior Danielle Escutia scored on a penalty kick, making the score 2-1. In the 33rd minute freshman Ellie Greff found the back of the net to make the final score of the game 3-1. The Lady Crusaders are 10-2-1 and 2-0 in district play. 

The St. Michael's Men's and Women's Soccer teams play against district rival Regents at Regents. The Crusaders play at 5:00 tomorrow with the Lady Crusaders to follow after at 7:00 pm. Please come out and support the soccer teams.
