Tennis Season Opens on a Strong Note

The St. Michael's Tennis Team traveled to Wimberley High School for their first match of the season. The men's doubles team of Thomas Suffoletta and Ryan Polk pulled out a win against a strong seasoned team. Brothers Jack and Nick Nichols had a strong showing in their first match together. Singles players Anthony Ortegon, Jack DeRoeck and Chris Marco all had definitive wins. Doak Henderson, Chase Boykin and Cameron French had competitive singles matches, but were just edged out by the Texans.

The women's doubles team of Rachel Thweatt and Sofia Rangel-Medina dominated with two big match wins. Grace May, in her first tournament as a Crusader, played a tough singles match against a worthy opponent. Olivia Lovelady, Isa Martinez, Allison Vilas and Riley Todd were strong competitors in their singles matches. Martinez and Lovelady played an exciting doubles match to end the evening.

Our mixed doubles exhibition match with Brennan Foreman and Jack Nichols paired two Super Champs together for a dominating performance.

It was a great afternoon of tennis at Wimberley High School. Go Crusaders!
