Ways to Give

A significant goal for St. Michael’s Catholic Academy is the concept of “asset-based giving” or giving from accumulated wealth. The most common and simplest method of funding a gift is to give from your income stream. While cash gifts are beneficial and greatly appreciated, they can be limiting. There are other methods of giving that allow donors to contribute greater dollars at lower costs. Structured and well-planned giving from total wealth can dramatically raise the ability to make a gift.

As with all legal and financial matters, St. Michael’s recommends that donors consult with their personal legal, tax, and financial advisors before funding a gift.
CHARITABLE GIFT PLANNING
Planned or deferred gifts are recognized through the Trumpet Society.

The St. Michael's Development Office can be a resource for your gift planning by providing general information on estate planning and tax and income benefits for a variety of planned gifts. A tax advisor is your best source for designing a giving plan for the benefit of St. Michael's Catholic Academy.

THE TRUMPET SOCIETY
The Trumpet Society recognizes individuals who have named St. Michael's Catholic Academy in their wills or who provide for the future growth and financial stability of our institution through planned giving. By sending us written notification that St. Michael's is part of your estate planning, you will become a member. Please contact David Richardson in the Development Office at 512.328-2323, ext. 238 for additional information on planned giving.

BEQUESTS
Bequests can often be a way to reduce estate taxes and can be a percentage of the estate, the residual of the estate, a specific dollar amount or an item.

CHARITABLE GIFT ANNUITIES
A charitable gift annuity is a contract between a donor and St. Michael's , whereby the donor transfers cash or property to St. Michael's in exchange for a partial tax deduction and lifetime stream of annual income from St. Michael's. The amount of income is determined by a variety of factors. If you would like more information regarding this form of planned giving, please contact the Development Office.
