  • Jay Arellano '95 President

    A lifelong educator, Jay is currently the Dean of Students at St. Theresa Catholic Academy in Austin, Texas.  Jay’s love of teaching was fostered early on in life at St. Michael’s Catholic Academy. His love of sports lead him to pursue a collegiate baseball career before transferring to St. Edward’s where a love of sports medicine blossomed.  
    After graduation, Jay served as Head athletic trainer for several professional sports team, before becoming the Head Athletic Trainer at SMCA.  While at SMCA, he continued to serve the community in a variety of ways including coaching softball and eventually a move to work with students with learning needs.   

    In 2008, Jay was awarded Alumnus of the Year for his commitment to our school and his community.  Jay’s passion for SMCA continues to lead him to serve on the St. Michael’s Alumni Association’s Governing Board as President.   

     "I feel a responsibility to give back to St. Michael’s, as it has given so much to me; serving on the Alumni Board would be an ideal way for me to support SMCA," Jay says. "I believe that alumni are the strongest ambassadors of an institution, as the successes of the alumni reflect upon the quality of education provided by the school."
  • Juan I Creixell '90

    After graduating from St. Michael’s, Juan attended the University of Texas at Austin and graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance. He began his career working for The Chase Manhattan Bank in Mexico City before going on to receive his MBA from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. 
    After working for almost a decade in New York at various investment banks, Juan returned home Texas where he is Executive Director at JPMorgan and lead the Central Texas Private Bank office overseeing $3.5 billion of assets.
    Mr. Creixell also serves on the finance committee for the Diocese of Austin Foundation in addition to his role as the President of St Michael’s Alumni Association’s Governing Board. In 2015, St. Michael’s honored Juan’s commitment to our school and his community by making him Alumnus of the Year. Juan lives in Austin with his wife, Mariana and their three daughters Isabel, Ana, and Sofia who all attend St. Gabriel’s Catholic School. In his spare time, Juan enjoys running, tennis, golf and skiing.
  • Caitlin Dempsey '07

    Caitlin graduated St Michael’s Catholic Academy in 2007 and went on to attend the University of Texas at Austin. 

    She began her career at the Texas Capitol in 2011 and has since worked for the Texas Senate and House of Representatives. Currently she serves as the Legislative Director for Rep. John Raney from College Station. 
    During her free time she is a strong advocate for animal rights and domestic violence issues, working with stakeholders and coalitions throughout the state. 

    When she’s not involved in advocacy, she loves spending time with her dogs, Ellie and Gracie and runs her bakery, Confetti Baked Goods, exclusively selling at the Gnarly Gar in Lake Travis, Texas.
  • Carolyn (Devitt) DeRoeck '93

    Carolyn (Devitt) DeRoeck graduated from SMCA in 1993. She went on to graduate from the University of Texas with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance.
    Carolyn served on the SMCA Foundation Board and has also served for several years as the parent chair of the Crusader Fund, St. Michael’s Annual Fund.

    Carolyn lives in Austin with her husband, Brian and their two boys, Jack and Grant. Both boys have continued the SMCA family tradition with Jack graduating in 2019
    and Grant set to graduate in 2021.
  • Zach Ojeda '10 Treasurer

    After graduating from St. Michael's in 2010, Zach went on to complete dual degrees in Athletic Training and Sports Management from Texas Lutheran University in Seguin, TX. Immediately following graduation in 2014, Zach went on to complete his Master of Business Administration degree from  St. Mary's University in San Antonio.
    Zach currently resides in San Antonio with his wife, Megan. Zach works in Operations for the San Antonio Sports and Social Club. 

    Zach joined the SMCA Alumni Board in 2015 and currently serves as the Board's Treasurer.
  • Fr. Tom Reitmeyer '96

    After graduating from St. Michael's Catholic Academy as Salutatorian, Rev. Tom Reitmeyer '96, attended Texas A&M University and earned a B.S. degree in Biochemistry and Genetics. Following college, he worked for almost eight years for the College Station Police Department in various roles from dispatcher to detective before going on to work for his local parish as a Resource Development Director while he discerned his call to seminary.
    Fr. Tom began his seminary studies at Holy Trinity Seminary at the University of Dallas in Irving and completed his studies at St. Mary's Seminary in Houston. He holds a Masters of Divinity degree as well as a Masters of Arts in Theological Studies from the University of St. Thomas in Houston and a Baccalaureate in Sacred Theology (S.T.B) from St. Mary's University in Maryland. 
    Ordained a Catholic Priest for the Diocese of Austin on June 6, 2015, Fr. Tom's first parish assignment was St. Albert the Great Catholic Church in North Austin. In July of 2016, he was transferred to St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Killeen, TX where he serves as Parochial Vicar. 
    In his free time Fr. Tom enjoys traveling, reading, and one day hopes to become a private pilot.
  • Katie (Thompson) Tahuahua '09 Secretary

    After graduating summa cum laude from St. Edward’s University with a degree in English Writing and Rhetoric, Katie (Thompson) Tahuahua ’09, served as a writer and editor in Governor Rick Perry and Governor Greg Abbott’s administrations.
    Currently, Katie is the Legislative and Communications Director for State Representative Jason Isaac. In this role, she is responsible for analyzing a wide range of public policy issues as well as managing the representative’s communications strategy.
    Katie lives in Dripping Springs with her husband, Geoffrey, and two rescue dogs.
  • Megan (Minus) Traeger '02

    Megan (Minus) Traeger graduated from SMA in 2002 and attended Texas Lutheran University where she earned her BA in Communication Studies and Public Relations.
    She found her passion soon thereafter in education teaching middle school English on the southside of San Antonio. After four years, Traeger relocated to New Braunfels, Texas with her husband, Andrew, and two daughters, Ryan Grace and Reagan. She continues working as an 8th grade English teacher. She aspires to be Paula Priour, but no one can ever be THAT good.
