Al Sommers is president of Sommers Marketing & Public Relations, an Austin-based communications agency specializing in public relations, graphic design, and website design and development services. He has over 30 years of experience guiding local and national companies with their integrated marketing and communications campaigns. Prior to forming Sommers Marketing & Public Relations, Al worked with agencies including Elizabeth Christian & Associates, The Jefferson Group and Vollmer Public Relations, working on behalf of brands such as Krispy Kreme, St. David’s Healthcare, the Denver Broncos, Jeep, Coca-Cola, and McDonald’s. He is involved with various civic and professional organizations, including the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and the Ex-Student’s Association of The University of Texas (Texas Exes), and has served on the St. Michael’s Board of Trustees since 2018. Al and his wife, Renee, have three children who attended St. Michael’s - Zach (class of ’19), Jordan (class of ’21), and Carson (class of ’25).
