St. Michael’s Tennis Doubles Team Wins Fourth Consecutive State Championship

The St. Michael's Catholic Academy women's doubles tennis team of Hannah Harrod and Brennan Foreman won the TAPPS 5A State Championship on Tuesday, April 17, at Waco Regional Tennis Center.

The duo has won four consecutive state doubles championships in the 4A and 5A division, while also leading their team to three team state championship titles. They are the first athletes in St. Michael's 34-year history to accomplish four consecutive state titles. They were also named among “The Fab 50: our choices for the top high school athletes of 2016-17” by the Austin American-Statesman.

Harrod and Foreman defeated a team from Tyler All Saints, 6-3, 6-1 in Tuesday's finals. Along with teammates Rachel Thweatt and Sofia Rangel Medina, the team finished with a strong third place in this year’s tournament.
Harrod and Foreman have both signed to play at the collegiate level. Harrod has signed with George Mason University and Foreman will play at Cal Lutheran.
