Microbes to Microscopy (By Laura Robinette Minor, Biology Instructor)

From a tree decked in microbes to microscopy, we are all about microbes this week in biology! Our ninth-grade scientists, in preparation for midterms, reviewed cell theory by walking in the shoes of Hooke (1665), Leeuwenhoek (1674), Schleiden (1838), Schwann (1839), and Virchow (1855). They noted similarities and differences, as well as then identified the taxonomic kingdom of their specimens. Biologist Addie in D Block used her phone to take pictures of her observations.
