Four scholarly ladies won Regional Awards in the 2017 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, presented by the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers

- Madeleine Montgomery, A Beach So Beautiful (Personal Essay/Memoir)
- Ellery Pierce, Black Hole Conspiracy (Science Fiction/Fantasy)
- Abigail Thurman, The Pursuit of Truth - an Argumentative Essay in Response to Francis Bacon's 'Of Truth' (Critical Essay)
