Cross Country Takes 1st/2nd in Start to 2017 Season

The defending TAPPS 5A Men's and Women's Cross Country State Champions had their first meet of the 2017 season at Gonzales High School in the Gonzales Cross Country Relay Invitational. The race consisted of a two-mile relay where the runner runs a mile and then another runner runs until each runner on the team runs two miles; each school provided three runners per team. The Lady Crusaders placed first overall and each runner ran under 6 minutes per mile. The team members were Claire Glenn, Lyla Senn and Kinga Parrish. The Crusaders placed second and each runner ran under 4:55 per mile. Jackson Long split a personal best 4:23 on the first split. The team members for the Crusaders were Joe Lawler, Jackson Long and Nathaniel Mahoney. 

It was a great start to the season for the Men's and Women's Cross Country team. The Cross Country team will be back in action on Saturday, August 26, at Lockhart Cross Country Invitational at Lockhart High School.
